Academics
The Theta Eta chapter strives to excel academically. We as a chapter award roses to our members who receive a 4.0 or above, each semester. We also have academic mentor groups that meet a few times a semester to support each other with resources and class scheduling per major. Finally, this fall we are starting our new "Breakfast of Champions" to award our members for their academic achievements with a pancake breakfast.

Have questions? Feel free to contact our Academics Chair, Erika Bertrand at erikabertrand1@creighton.edu.

Our Story
Founded on October 24, 1902 at Miami University in Oxford Ohio, Delta Zeta is one of the largest sororities, with more than 150 collegiate and 250 alumnae chapters worldwide. Delta Zeta unites its members in the bonds of sincere and lasting friendship, encourages the pursuit of knowledge, promotes, the moral and social culture of its members, and helps sisters develop plans for guidance and unity in action.
Philanthropy
Delta Zeta’s national philanthropy, supported by both collegiate and alumnae chapters, is speech and hearing and The Painted Turtle camp.  Delta Zeta's partnerships with and The Painted Turtle and The Starkey Hearing Foundation were announced at the 2006 National Convention.  All of these important programs provide additional volunteer and giving opportunities for collegiate and alumnae members.

Chapters also support local and national speech and hearing organizations, such as Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., the only four-year liberal arts school in the world devoted wholly to the needs, instruction, and training of young people who are deaf, and the House Ear Institute, which is one of the world's foremost research, teaching, and treatment centers in the field of hearing.

Welcome!

The members of Delta Zeta and I are delighted that you are visiting our website! My name is Alyssa Cervantes and I am the President of the Theta Eta chapter at Creighton University.

Our purpose in Delta Zeta is to enrich our member's college years, our campus, our community, and beyond. It is not a club, but a commitment to live our lives with the highest of values. Membership involves many privileges and obligations. We strive to excel in the areas of academic achievement, philanthropy, community service, campus involvement, spiritual growth, leadership development, and social success.

Our chapter takes pride in organizing many campus and community activities.  This past year, we raised over $20,000 through our annual events such as Turtle Tug and our Ultimate Frisbee Tournament, to help support our national and local philanthropies. We also walked in the Out of the Darkness Walk, participated in Relay for Life, and volunteered in the Omaha community. Furthermore, we have a great presence on campus, with members holding leadership positions in many other organization. All of our great accomplishments have led us to be the reigning "Sorority of the Year" on Creighton's campus.

In addition to our philanthropic efforts and campus involvement, our chapter values the importance of sisterhood. Some of our sisterhood activities include our overnight fall retreat, our annual Thanksgiving Dinner, bowling with our new members, and our Death by Chocolate event. We also host many social events throughout the year, ending with our Rose Formal in the spring.

Delta Zeta is a place full of enrichment, with traditions and bonds that our members carry with them for a lifetime. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about Delta Zeta or the Theta Eta chapter at  alyssacervantes@creighton.edu  or you can find us on facebook.

In the Flame,

Alyssa Cervantes
President
Delta Zeta Sorority, Theta Eta Chapter
